Soft Daytime Smoky, NOTW
I have been kind of obsessed with smoky eyes lately. Nothing too dramatic or over the top, just very subtle and soft smoky eyes for daytime. If I’m going out at night I just add more eyeliner and dark eyeshadow for a full-on smoky eye. I love it!
Also, the promised tutorial on my new makeup application is coming soon promise! It’s actually not a new makeup application in general, just a new one for ME, since I usually apply my eye makeup differently, so this seems experimental to me, but some of you probably do it this way already anyway lol.
It doesn’t look terribly smoky here, but that’s why it’s subtle!
Items used:
Face:
- Smashbox oil-free Light Primer (it’s a little sample I got)
- CK Infinite Matte foundation in Soft Beige (applied a light layer with Sephora stippling brush)
- EDM Spring concealer
Cheeks:
- A little bit of NARS Laguna to contour
- Couture blush from the LORAC Multi-Platinum palette. I am in LOVE with this blush. 100x better than Orgasm.
Eyes:
- MUFE Lift Concealer #3
- UDPP
- Shiseido brow duo
- A little MAC Satin Taupe
- A tiny little gunmetal shade from LORAC Multi-Platinum palette (don’t know the name)
- Some random silver eyeshadow from an old Lancome palette
-Clinique cream liner in True Black
- Becca Quartz cream shadow to highlight
- UD 24/7 Liner in Zero
- Cover Girl LashBlast mascara
Lips:
- DIor Addict High Shine lipstick in Nude Silhouette
- A little bit of Oiseau lip balm in Sweetheart dabbed on top (it’s a sheer baby pink)
Lastly, I leave you with my nails of the week: China Glaze Wagon Trail. This color is absolutely gorgeous.
I NEED an eyeshadow of this exact same shade. Any recommendations??

hmm daytime smokey eyes. you make it look so wearable! I have yet to figure out how to wear black smokey eyes whether it’s for the day or night, without looking like a panda
That nail colour looks pretty! Is that kind of a dark olive colour? Maybe MAC’s Sumptuous olive with a black base under it?

There’s this cult eyeshadow called Erica F that very closely matches your nail polish. It gives off more of a gold-olive tone than just a straight-up gold though (judging by the tones in the picture). Erica F is going to be uberhard to track down and buy though…..o.o but if you search the eyeshadow name a few dupes of it should come up hopefully =]

I believe the gunmetal shade is called Heavy Metal (top far right?). I love the Couture blush as well! Your eyes look fab esp with the highlight on the bottom!
The nail polish color is beautiful! I adore dark polish colors that appear black but upon second glance, you can see hints of other shades as well.

Bottom middle is called Dreamy. I had to look at the back of my box =P. Have you seen the new LE Lorac palette?! I’m excited to get it! I’m gonna try to resist until the Sephora FF starts! I think it’s called Croc Case (Full Face Collection). It has like 16 shadows, 4 face colors (blush, bronzer, highlighter), and 3 l/g for $56! Which is only like $20 more than the multi-platinum palette!

Hahah thank you. Umm I’m wearing OPI Polar Bare on my nails. It’s about time for a change, I’m chipping like mad haha.
Hahahha well that’s good! I just bought my first cookbook yesterday. Costco has some great ones. I bought Giada Delaurentis’ Giada’s Kitchen. Her recipes come out really well and the majority of items I’ve made are by her. Williams Sonoma cookbooks suck! Whenever I use their recipes things don’t come out right!

Smokey eyes are the best. I can’t do a soft one though… well, on myself… I don’t like how it looks on me.
Hehe. I swear I’m not a fan of subtle makeup on myself. 
Hehe.
But subtle smokey eyes look very pretty on you! If you do happen to find an eyeshadow the color of the nail polish, let me know… I LOVE the color.
