Major Update / Q&A

Long time no see guys.  I just finished my 35-page research paper for my Investments class and it feels SO GOOD.  All the late nights and caffeine was worth it, I hope I get an A.   Sigh, it was so much work just to research one company, I can’t imaging security analysts doing this shit everyday for a living.    Finals are coming up next week so I have been studying for them, but I am taking breaks by updating my blog  

My makeup routine has been quite simple lately, I’m being inspired by Fuzkittie’s natural looks that subtly enhance my  features.  Looking back, some of my old looks seem so garish now.  

Some FOTDs from the past few weeks, sorry I can’t remember what I used in each look since I just stored all these pictures on my camera until I finally uploaded everthing last night lol.  

Almost looks like I am not wearing any makeup right??  But I actually put on a bunch of stuff.  :)  Lips are MAC Viva Glam V Lipglass, my only MAC lipgloss!  

It’s pretty obvious by now that I LOVE olive green shadows  BTW I used Shiseido Lasting Lift mascara here.   Lips are Dior Addict High Shine lipstick in Nude Silhouette, I am officially dubbing this my HG nude.

So far I am really loving both the Eyeko cream and the tinted cream.  The other 2 items are freebies, and they both suck!  Reviews to come soon, maybe. 

Japanese supermarket haul:

yay I finally got all these Japanese products that everyone has been talking about!  So far I really like the Sana Peeling Gel and the Lucido hair wax, but not so much the Mandom makeup remover, it’s not very effective at taking off all of my makeup…maybe I wear too much? Haha.  

Also got a Japanese magazine! Biteki:

Sigh I wish I could read all the words, this magazine is so awesome, the only US equivalent mag that I can think of is Allure, which is crap.  Why can’t we have awesome beauty magazines too?!

It included a free gift, a Imju Fiberwig mascara:

I was so excited to try this out, but unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations whatsoever.  I’m glad it was free, I would never buy this.

It was this reddish plum colored mascara.  In the magazine they showed the model wearing this only on her bottom lashes, which looked really prett.  Being the adventurous person that I am, I tried it on both the top and bottom lashes, well needless to say the plum color was so light that it practically made my lashes disappear! It also cannot hold up a curl, and even though it does lengthens significantly, it doesn’t add any volume at all which left me with bare puny little lashes that you can’t hardly see.  Also, the little “fibers” that coat our lashes which are supposed to be easy to remove ended up falling all over the place throughout the day and kept on irritating my eyes.  I had to pick out the little fibers from my eyes several times! So annoying.

 

Finally, I got a new camera!!

Well…it’s not really mine.  Since my boyfriend is a big photography enthusiast, he has collected several cameras, and when I complained that I am getting tired of my camera and how the quality image is just not up to par anymore, he “gave” me one of his cameras to use.  By gaveI meant lent it to me indefinitely  It’s a Cannon 40D DSLR and I love it!  The picture quality is so excellent, and I swear the flash gives you the most flattering picture ever.  He gave it to me because he doesn’t really use this one, and the fact that it’s one of his “cheaper” cameras, even though I almost fell over when he told me that it cost him $1,200 (oops I wrote $12K earlier HAHA big mistake I would faint if it costs as much as a car).   

The only problem is that the lens doesn’t allow me to take close-up pictures, meaning if I try to take a self portrait it’ll only capture my eyes and nose…so I can’t do FOTDs with this!  He is going to get me another lens so I can camwhore.

Q&A, finally…

So I decided to answer some of the questions that are unanswered from several posts ago.  Haha I know it is so old but I figured better late than never.  
Can you show us a picture of your eyelashes with the mascara on? Tonight I saw a CG commercial mascaras like this, and now that you brought this one to my attention, I’m so curious! – Mayhem

Yes I can! I’m sorry if this is like more than a month late…but I will take a picture of my lashes before and after the Shiseido Lift mascara.  Unfortunately I cannot compare this with the CG Lash Blast because I threw that out already…:(

Thank you! Actuallyyy the SM chunky heels are the most comfortable pair of heels that I own! I think it’s because they are so stable since they are platforms compared to stilettos.  They definitely have great arch that can support my feet through a whole night of dancing.  I love them, not clunky at all! 

Hrrm if you could compare those CG lipsticks to a HE brand, what would it be?  - angie

Hmmm actually, I really haven’t tried that many HE brand lipsticks, except for Dior and Clinique, so it’s pretty hard to compare.  They’re definitely inferior to Dior that’s for sure, I actually don’t think that they are really comparable to HE lippies at all haha.  I think you get what you paid for definitely, but in terms of drugstore quality they are not bad at all and they’re cheap if you want to just test out a new color and don’t want to invest in an expensive lipstick.  If it ends up not working out you can just toss them.
