We met in college when I was a freshman and he was a senior (haha cradle robber!!).  It was love at first sight.  haha jk but we totally hit it off and had a lot of chemistry when we first met.  The ironic thing is that he was in a fraternity, and people who knew me at the time will tell you that frat boys have got to be the LAST people on earth that I would ever date.  Well as it turns out he was really not your typical frat boy at all, first of all he cannot drink hahaha he is extremely lightweight and will puke his guts out after 5 or 6 drinks…(just like me!!), and second of all he is actually a genuinely nice guy, not the typical frat boy jerk.  

We started out a little rocky because he was unsure where the relationship will be headed when he graduates in a few months, and when he finally did graduate and moved to a city 1.5 hours away for work, we still stayed together and have been together since then.  It’s been almost 3 and 1/2 years of him driving to see me every other weekend and having made a lot a lot a lot of sacrifices, and I am so grateful to have such a wonderful person in my life.  

This past month, he finally was able to land a new job that is only 15 minutes away from where I live, which means he will no longer have to drive so far to see me all the time!! The position is much higher than his previous one, and they also raised his base salary 10%, in such a crappy economy, I am incredibly proud of him to have scored such an awesome job (if only I could say the same…lol).  So finally he’s all moved in to his new apartment this weekend which he will sharing with an old friend and frat bro from college.  It’s so cute because his friend is really excited that he moved in because now they can go to the gym, go out to eat, and do all sorts of manly activities together haha.  They are even talking about getting a cat together!  We’ve already decided that he would come see me and eat dinner with me every Wednesday, and of course we will get to see each other every weekend!! It would be so convenient now that he is so close.  Can you tell that I’m excited??

I dug out my old Freshlooks Colorblends contacts because I had totally forgotten about them.  I bought a whole year’s supply and I have no idea why.  Now they are sitting there being wasted because I hardly ever use them.  I have them in the color Turqouise and I honestly think it looks super strange on me, like I can’t quite put my finger on it, there is just something OFF about them…I can’t decide whether or not  I like them, they are also ultra uncomfortable!

Today I turn the big  2-2!! I can’t believe I am so old already, to me anything past 21 seems old!  Sigh I want to be 21 forever.   I’m not big on celebrating my birthday so I am just going to have a quiet dinner with the bf and going out for some drinks with friends afterwards as I am not really a big partyer at all.  

I woke up this morning to a big birthday surprise from the bf…….

I was sooo excited, I have been wanting this ever since it came out!! Finally I can have a small lightweight laptop to take with me to class! Although I am graduating soon so I won’t get too much use out of it haha. 

It is so small, lightweight, and pretty! I absolutely love it.  

It is the size of a magazine!

Compared to an iPhone.  I am using it right this minute!  

Anyway, as I promised to review every product that I got from China, here is another foundation review. 

Product name: DHC Rose Beauty Gel Foundation Q10

Availability: This is only available in Asia I believe, so you won’t be able to find this on the American DHC website, which is a shame because the Rose Beauty line has some fantastic products!

Price: I paid about the equivalent of $21 for this, which is a pretty decent price.  You can also buy this on eBay for similar prices not including shipping.  

Shade: It comes in only 3 shades, and the one I got is the middle shade called Natural Ocher 01.

Sun Protection: As you can see it has SPF 30 PA+++ which is very good in my opinion, most foundations do not have such a high SPF.  

Packaging: Comes in a baby pink plastic jar with a plastic spatula.  The jar is very cute and girly.  

Ingredients: Unfortunately the box does not come with ingredients, nor is there an instructional booklet inside so I have no idea what the ingredients are  

Scent:  Has a very faint rose smell that is hardly detectable.  

Texture:  Very liquidy.  It is a “gel” foundation so it is watery instead of creamy, reminds me a lot of the texture of the MUFE foundation in the glass jar (can’t recall the name).  

Application: It dries very fast so you need to apply and blend quickly.  

Coverage: Light to medium depending on how you layer it.  It is EXTREMELY pigmented, so you only need the tiniest bit for your entire face, I’m talking about a pea sized amount.  The texture is very silky so the color melts into the skin and just blends in flawlessly.  I am very impressed with its blendability.  

Color Match:  Even though the color looked a bit dark in the jar, it showed up quite light on my skin and blended in very well.   What is it about Asian cosmetics that blend in so seamlessly with our skin?? So much better than American or European foundations in my opinion.  

Finish: More of a satin finish, that is in between dewy and matte, looks very natural.

Lasting Power:  Unfortunately the only downside of this foundation is that it does not last all day.  It fades after about 5 or 6 hours of wear without retouching.  But lasting power is slightly improved when set with powder.

Overall:  Even though the foundation comes in a rather inconvenient packaging, the inclusion of the spatula makes it much easier and more sanitary to use.  Coverage and blendability are great with decent lasting power, and color match is superb.  I am very happy with this foundation, perhaps even more so than the Laneige Snow Crystal Dual Foundation.  

I would give it 4.5 (Out of 5) stars!!

I really appreciate it My eyes are still bloodshot but at least there is no more gooey shit that comes out (ewww).  I’ve been applying my antibiotic drops like a good girl and they should go away soon, and I can finally wear makeup again!! AHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the scary picture, but TRUST ME, it’s 100x better than what my eyes really look like right now. The optometrist said that it is a mild case of Conjunctivitis, but damn, I still look like I got jizzed in the eyes. NASTY. I have no idea how I got it, I wash my hands like 50 times a day, I don’t go touching dirty stuff then go rub it in my eyes, I throw out my mascara every 3 months, I dont’ share mascara or eyeliner with anyone, so how the F&*#$ did I get pink eye I have no idea. The opt. said that I must have gotten some bacteria in my eye and since my immune system was weak due to my cold, my body couldn’t fight it off so I developed an infection. I called my boyfriend to tell him and the first thing he says to me is :

“Did you come in contact with fecal matter?”
Me: “WTF!?!?”
Him: “That’s how you get pink eye right?”
Me: “You know there are other sources of bacteria besides fecal matter”
Him: “Oh, but I thought the most common way is to get it from fecal matter”
Me: “Right because I like to rub shit all over my eyes”

I am thoroughly disgusted!! Sigh. I got some prescription antibiotics eye drops and it should go away in a few days. Thank God it’s the weekend so I can just hide in my room!

I’m looking to move out of my current place so I have been apartment hunting for the past couple of weeks to no avail, all the apartments around here are either really shitty as in dark and dingy or really expensive as in $2000+ for a 2 bed/1bath or TOO FAR from campus!! Right now I share a room with someone, it’s not bad but I think I am ready to have my own room! Lol I’m growing up! But of course having your own room means paying at least double the rent >_< and my parents are going to have to help pay for part of it, oh well, I’m their only girl so I get spoiled I guess. Although I feel bad enough that they are putting me through college with no loans whatsoever so I won’t have to worry about graduating college with a truckload of debt to pay off, now I am going to have to ask them to help pay my rent! Ahhhh. I do work part time so I am definitely able to pay at least half. I have literally been stalking craigslist 24/7 for new listings but nothing looks good. My future apartment-mate and I have been looking at open houses and have been disappointed by all of them…except this ONE place…it was GORGEOUS and the rent? Well under $2000/month. Everything was perfect except…the move in date is April 15th and there is already a wait list. There’s no way in hell we’re going to be able to move in within the next 2 weeks when the lease we have now ends in June. Paying double rent for 2 months is not very fun, and there are people ahead of us that will be able to move in sooner. Sigh, I can’t believe we had to let that one go. Now nowhere else will ever look as good! And certainly not for that price.

Anyway, enough blabbering about boring apartments, I’ll get to the part with pictures.

I took a little stroll down to Walgreens the other day and bought myself some fake nails. I am a fake nails virgin and my bare little fingertips have never been touched by anything other than nail polish (well, and nail polish remover, and cuticle oil…), so I decided to pick up a DIY nails kit for the very first time:

To be honest, I always thought fake nails looked tacky and ghetto fabulous if done at the right length and curvature, but these seem to look pretty natural. I mean they say Real Short in length! The process was simple enough, but way too time consuming. I think I would only do them again if I had at least 30-40 minutes to blow on doing my nails.

The result:

Not bad eh?? They look super natural! Well that’s because I had to trim down all of the nails because even with the Super Short length, they were still too long for my short little finger nails, or maybe I just prefer shorter nails. Also, the nails came in a variety of sizes arranged by numbers so you know which number to use on each finger for both hands when you are fitting them. Well, even though it included 24 nails, more than enough to do 2 applications, I used up all of the smallest sizes so I guess it’s a one-time application for me. Oh well. My hand is tiny! And so are my fingers, and so are my fingernails… Can you believe that the biggest size it had was SO BIG that I put it on my big toe and it was even BIGGER than my big toe?!? Umm whose thumb is that huge?? That’s kind of gross. Next time if I’m in the mood for some fake nails I’m going to pick up the kit for girls that’s “Mom approved”, the nail sizes are smaller AND it’s cheaper

I have to admit though, I’m really getting addicted to having fake nails. It’s been 3 days and they are still in perfect condition! No chips, no peeling, no need to touch up like regular nail polish. Does anyone know how long I can wear them for? I’m worried about the removal part. I read that you are supposed to soak your fingers in acetone nail polish remover. Umm isn’t that like super drying and damaging? Is there a better method to remove them? I need all the advice I can get so that I don’t rip out my nails and damage them even more. Thanks in advance

I’ll end with a FOTD from this weekend:

I played with my new NARS stuff (more on that coming soon, I was too lazy to take pictures of everything) and the result of my fake glow = NARS Laguna Bronzer to contour + a dab of NARS Outlaw on apples (it’s bright and pigmented!) + MAC Nylon to highlight under the brows. By the way, Nylon is like THE frostiest eyeshadow I have ever used, so frosty that I am scared of it, I actually hesitate a little before using it each time and hold my breath as I blend it. LOL I sound like such a dork but it’s true. MAC *really* means business when it says Frost.

Oh yea, after reading Ichigobunnie’s review on the Epi stick, I went and bought myself one off eBay! It was actually $6 something after shipping and it’s coming from Canada. Hopefully it gets here soon, I’m excited! I can get rid of my upper lip fuzzies! I have been plucking them but I can never fully get everything, and waxing is too scary. I tried to DIY once, and I burned my finger. LOL it is not for the clumsy apparently.
