Goodbye WordPress, it was fun while it lasted, but your features just weren’t enough for me, I needed more freedom to customize, and you didn’t even allow javascript!!

The collection is called Springtime Pastels. 

Used the Cordura duo, Angelika blush, and Sweet Revenge lipgploss.

For soe reason my left and right eyes are always uneven…I can’t seem to apply eyeshadow evenly to both sides! 

As you can see I have a little pimple on my nose ahhhh!! I hate this hot weather, it makes me break out

I loooove the Angelika blush!!! It’s perfect, the exact shade of baby pink that I was looking for, yay!!  I think this is a keeper.

I want to show you my (miniscule) notebook collection.  I like looking at and buying cute little journals/notebooks even though most of the time I really have no use for them.  

The black one is the one I keep in my bag for jotting down notes.  It’s called “little black book” which I thought was quite cute.  The picture on it is a sticker picture of me and my dog (haha so vain…)

I recently bought this one from Anthropologie, it was on sale! It’s big, kind of like a normal sized notebook but it’s so cute, and the paper quality inside is nice and thick, just how I like them.  This was made in Japan.

This one is my favorite.  It’s by Jill Bliss.  It’s called The Native Flowers Journal.   The pages inside are sooo pretty~

It’s just too pretty to use…

This one is made of recycled wrapping papers, it’s made in India.  The colors are soo vibrant and fun.  The pages aren’t exactly for writing though.

Each page is a different design! 

I want to get more journals and notebooks with pretty designs!

- ANYTHING my mom makes, she’s an awesome cook, and always makes me yummy dishes when I come home.  Her spicy eggplant with ground pork, pork shrimp and squash dumplings, black chicken soup, oxtail stew, and deep fried lotus roots with meat filling, MMMMMMMMM. 

What would make today special?

- If it were 10 degrees cooler.

- scuba dive! I want to swim with the fishies lol.

The good news is that I still have my little Acer Aspire One netbook!! Otherwise I’d be totally out of a working computer and that would be very devastating.  

The bad news is that I have NO photo editing program on my Acer (no Photoshop) so I cannot watermark my photos!!  I had to use Microsoft Picture Manager (crappy program) to crop/resize my photos for posting.  I had soo many photos saved up for FOTDs, Hauls, Reviews, and even a Tutorial!  Since I don’t feel comfortable posting pictures of my face without watermarking them, I will have to wait until I can install Photoshop onto this computer to post them.  In the meantime please be patient with me if my posts are looking rather sparse…I promise I will have lots more juicy posts coming up haha. 

Anyway, I’ve been getting into a jewelry making frenzy lately because I just bought a bunch of new Swarovski crystal beads, and I just learned how to wire wrap a pendant!!  I really love the effect of wire wrapping and can’t wait to use it with my gemstone briolettes!

Oh, and please visit Mona’s Jewelry Blog for her awesome creations!! I was actually inspired by her pretty jewelry to start making me own..*blush*, some of her stuff are sooo creative! I’m trying to make more interesting designs instead of the plain boring stuff I’ve been making.  

Some of the recent jewelry I made:

Necklace with various shades of blue Swarovski crystal bicones on a sterling silver ring and sterling silver chain and clasp.  

This one was really simple to make, it was like instant gratification haha.

Necklace with a large Swarovski round bead in Silk, and mall bicone crystals in various colors, on sterling silver chain and clasp.  This one was fun to make because it’s so colorful.  Even though the colors on the two sides don’t match, I think it looks better that way, no?

Then I tried out wire wrapping some crystal briolettes, it took me a few tries to get the wrapping to actually look straight, I wasted so much wire! -_-

Sterling silver earrings with Swarovski flat briolettes in Aquamarine.

I think these flat briolettes are my favorite crystals right now, they are so pretty and the faceted surface really catches the light.

Also made a necklace with a big fat crystal.

15.4×14mm Swarovski flat briolette in Light Rose on sterling silver chain and clasp.  

This crystal is quite large! Large crystals are awesome, I wish they made these in even bigger sizes, I really want a huge ass crystal pendant like the size of my palm.  Anyone knows if they actually sell those? 

That’s all for my recent jewelry making.  I’m sad that these pictures are not watermarked, but at least they’re not my face? haha it’s better if someone steals my jewelry than my identity right? 

Now I’m going to download a trial version of Photoshop so I can edit my pictures!

I took all of your advice to heart, and the interview went really well!! I was called back for a 3rd round (Final round) which will take place next week, yikes! I only anticipated 2 rounds, I had no idea there would be another round…sigh. Even though I will only be meeting with one person, it will probably be the most important interview of all because I’ll be meeting with the managing director. So gotta go prepare some more…

Can’t wait until this process is over!

By the way, I’ve got another question for you ladies, should I wear the SAME SUIT to the next interview?? Or should I get a different suit? Or maybe pair the same suit with a different blouse and different shoes? What do you think?

I know this is a beauty blog and I try to keep personal posts to a minimum but I am really in need of some helpful career advice, namely interview tips!

As you all know (or maybe not? ) I am graduating this semester!  I have been recruiting like crazy but unfortunately it’s been largely unsuccessful.  The job market sucks nowadays especially for the financial industry, and it’s  even tougher for new grads!  Many of the firms I interviewed with crapped out on me halfway throughout the process, saying they’re having a hiring freeze and stopping their university recruitment blah blah so it has been quite frustrating.  

BUT I have a 2nd round interview coming up next week for a major company, it’s pretty much my dream job so I really need to blow everyone away and kick my competitors out of the water. Haha.   Even though I have had many interview experiences in the past, I really need to stand out and WOW everyone at this interview.  Soooo for all you successful OL ladies please offer me some helpful advice on preparing for this oh-so-important interview.  It would be extra extra helpful if you have experience in the financial services industry or a corporate environment! It’s going to be an all day interview where I am there from morning until late afternoon interviewing with as many people as I can, most likely senior Managers and VPs, possibly a panel interview?  I will also be having lunch with them, so tips on business lunch etiquette would be nice!  

I feel like I am pretty solid on the fundamentals of a good interview (posture, handshake, eye contact, talk up your strengths, etc.), but I’m just trying to figure out what would be the extra competitive edge that makes me stand out.   So any advice would be helpful!  And I would LOVE to hear about your personal experiences on beating out the competition to get that dream job, what made them choose YOU?  

In the meantime I am going to memorize the Vault guides… -_-

This is non-makeup related but I am so excited because the bf is going to take me to see Wicked in February!! I know it is a long way off but most of the orchestra seating tickets are sold out already so we had to reserve them early.   It was supposed to be in celebration of my 22nd birthday in January, but the show doesn’t actually start until February, so I guess it could count as a Valentine’s day thing since it’s going to be around that week anyway.   But the minute details don’t matter because I am so excited!! I have been wanting to see the show for YEARS ever since I read the book.  Ahhh I cannot wait!!  Has anyone seen it? Everyone I know that has watched it has raved about it nonstop, so I am really excited to finally be able  to witness the magic myself hahah.  Let me know what you think, but don’t give away too much!  

Oh and also, I am going to be vacationing in China for the next 3 weeks.  I’m leaving this Saturday morning and coming back mid-January, so I won’t be able to update my blog during that time since blogs are banned over there which I found out the last time I was there.  :(  Hopefully I’ll be able to hunt down some Japanese and Korean makeup/skincare products!  Anyone know any good places to shop in Beijing??

Putting the hair up in a tight bun makes the look feel cleaner and slightly more androgynous.

There are 3 versions to this look:

First version:

Cinch the shirts with a wide waist belt

OR 

Second version:

tie a cute lil’ knot with the t-shirt! This one is more funky and casual looking.  

Finally, the third version:

Simply ditch the V-neck and just wear the turtleneck with the waist belt.  Also shows close-up of hair and earrings.  Hair is worn down with one side tucked behind the ear for a feminine touch that goes with the ruffly skirt.  

This look would be great for a casual date.

You are probably wondering, what the hell? What is that skirt doing up there with those jeans??  You are about to find out!

This look would be perfect for going out for drinks with friends.  

And that’s all!  I seriously had so much fun doing this contest, so thank you Fuzzie for starting it!!  It totally made me get creative with clothes that I honestly hardly wear (like the ruffle skirt and the blazer) and it was definitely challenging coming up with different looks using only a few pieces.   I even got out my jewelry to play with! I have so much jewelry and accessories but 98% of the time I am too lazy to wear any of it, so I usually go out the door without any embellishments, but I’m totally going to start wearing jewelry more often now!

I actually haven’t been shopping much lately, a little tight on the budget since I no longer work part-time now.  BUT being the shopaholic that I am, I couldn’t resist and picked up some cute Steve Madden shoes on sale! It was a good deal guys, trust me.  Check it out:

Cute yea? They are exactly 4 inches tall, which makes me officially…5′5″!!!  I wore them out to a bar the other night and they were so surprisingly comfortable, I love them!  And not to mention…they are pretty much EXACT knockoffs of the Chloe Perspex shoes:

Those are the $900 Chloe ones.  Can’t even tell the difference right???  I got black instead of white because I’m not a big fan of white shoes, they get dirty too fast.  

I went to a wedding 2 weeks ago, and it was kind of blah (not a big fan of weddings), but at least I liked my outfit.
